October 10, 2020 - Same notes as August, drinking well. Still enjoyable.

August 9, 2020 - ruby color; stewed blackberries on the nose; rich blackberry, pepper notes on the palate; brings out the best in steak. Drink soonish because past day 2, it starts to decline. A slow decline, stately, but a decline nonetheless.

April 12, 2020 - Candied ripe cherry and some herbal notes on the nose. On the palate, candied cherry, some string licorice, a little spice, and a touch of tea/leafy tobacco on the lingering finish. Great mouth feel; as juicy and fruit forward as it is, the back end really dries out the sides of my mouth and allows for quite a long finish of 45+ seconds. Enjoyed this over three days. The first day it was more youthful. If drinking it all in one day I highly recommend a 2-3 hour decant. This was very good day 1, excellent day 2, and fantastic by day 3. Scott and Jana are doing Zoom events and virtual tastings during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I opened this while learning about the history of Zin in California. Still the only wine club I belong to, and a wine like this is exactly why. QPR is exceptional, and Scott and Jana are great people that are passionate about wine. 89 pts. day 1, 92 pts. by day 3. 91 pts.

February 12, 2019 - ruby color; blackberry jam nose; fruit-forward, very pleasant blackberry and blueberry jam mouthful. Easy tannins, long fruity aftertaste.

October 27, 2018 - Damn my last 14'. I really like Scott Harvey Zin but more importantly the wife "loves" it. This has been a consistently great QPR Zin for us for last couple years. If you've still got it I think this has at least another year or two going forward as this was probably one of the better bottles recently.

May 24, 2018 - Second to last bottle of almost two cases.... I really like this wine and more importantly the wife loves it. Needless to say this has been a consistently good and probably above average QPR Zin at $15. Wish I had a few more to hang onto but I think the drinking window can be extended another year or so. Lovely integrated fruit that is drinking superbly right now enjoy while it's in this window. Also have one '13 I'll try and give a little more time but hard to ignore :)

November 30, 2017 - Classic Scott Harvey Zin, drinking well end of 2017, probably not much time left in the bottle. Not too extracted or jammy, good acid, low to medium tannin.

October 6, 2017 - Last bottle of the bunch and it was fantastic. Full-bodied zin, with plenty of fruit but not too jammy. Worth the wait.

October 1, 2017 - From Scotts Winemaker Reserve collection that seems to target the mass market a bit more than the Mountain or regular white label reserve bottling. It did just that. Well balanced with plenty of fruit that will please most anyone.
