  December 9, 2021 - Tasted over two days. No decant but let the wine develop in the glass slowly.
  
  Medium / deep garnet with some bricking along the edges. On the nose didn’t take much time in the glass before getting an expressive bouquet of liqueur soaked cherries and raisin-ed fruit. On the palate the fruit really comes through on the front with notes of chocolate on the mid palate and a strong backbone of acid on the finish. Velvety tannins on the finish and some heat from the alcohol. On day two the alcohol was much less noticeable and tannins more resolved with a still expressive nose that veered more towards plum and spice.
  
  This is a bold, high octane, expressive wine. It’s somehow fairly light on it’s feet however and immensely pleasurable. This is my first experience with Quintarelli and I see what all the hype is about (and will search out more). Given how this drank on day two if I had a few bottles I’d hold some for a couple years but there is no real need to hold off as it’s a delight to drink right now.
  
  Have only had a few wines from this region so score may be 1-2 points high due to the exuberance of really enjoying something new.

  December 16, 2020 - At first muted and closed. After an hour this is singing. Aromas of blueberries land sappy pine. Multi layered and textural. Tiers of leathery, dusty dark fruits and earth. Long and tannic finish. This will only improve.
