December 31, 2023 - A quite typical Bordeaux. Much appreciated, but not priceworthy.

December 4, 2023 - After a trip through the Medoc a few weeks ago I was really looking forward to trying my first bottle of “Baby Latour”.

It’s lovely. The pedigree shows for sure. It’s fun to hang out with the prodigal son of the family, even at this price. I will open the 2016 next week which I think will be better.

July 30, 2023 - Dark ruby red with pink, orangey rim. Black fruits, plum, mint, spices and wood. Lack concentration or complexity.

While the wine itself was decent, the significant premium paid for the Chateau Latour affiliation was NOT worth it.

May 12, 2023 - Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&D’s): Double blind. Darkest wine in the flight. Aromas of candied black fruit, plum and green tobacco. Full-bodied. Abundant dark fruit on the palate with earthy undertones. Guessed Bordeaux. (R&D)

March 19, 2023 - Good wine but lacked in complexity. Dark berries, wood, soil. Think this still needs a couple of years to unleash potential, although would not expect any miracles

March 11, 2023 - The bouquet is still very reticent, but there are dark berries, sweet spices and beautiful oak. On the palate dark berries, dark chocolate, licorice, good acidity and still sticky tannin. This wine hardly reached its early youthful stage. Wait at least until 2026 or probably even wiser; 2028. I think this will still be a beauty around 2038+. 93 – 95+

February 15, 2023 - Similar to last note but another year in bottle has improved. More depth on palate. Will not obtain real complexity or depth but this is elegant and classic left bank claret.

    December 19, 2022 - Deep ruby black
    Pungent earthy aromas
A bit backward on the palate, a
much dumber period than last bottle

    This particular bottle needs time

June 23, 2022 - Blackcurrant, blackberries and bluberries. A hint of cedar and smoke. Lovely acidity, high, but smooth tannin and a nice long finish. Drinks well with food now, but should get better with some age.

April 27, 2022 - Deep crimson. Nose of ripe blueberries, cassis, chocolate, coffee, tobacco. Palate is showing bright acidity, lush soft tannins, and impressive length. Really good right now, and should get better with age. Skilled winemaking. Great balance.
