  September 27, 2022 - Haven’t had a 2015 from one of my recent favorite producers after falling in love with their 2018 & 2020 last year at the Chateau. While I have had my fair share of PLL it was never a wine that lived up to its reputation or my expectations until recently. I was floored by how incredible these 2018 & 2020 wines were, I mean that sincerely - watch out First Growths… so much so that while still on property I reached out to my importer to go deep. Oh and FYI they are going to make Chardonnay/SB blend beginning this year… can’t wait to try that combo if ever given the chance.
  
  The massive investments that were the impetus for these incredible new heights started with the hiring of Nicolas Glumineau, previously from Montrose, in 2012. Nicolas then oversaw a massive renovation in the Chateau (winemaking facilities) and vineyard which lead up to these fantastic wines… so where does 2015 fit in as it was the first ‘excellent’ vintage in Bordeaux that would go through the new facilities at the chateau? A very very good wine!
  
  A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine fires off both savory and primary from the first sip and through the long finish. Wine starts out with fantastic structure, high acid and tannins that are well balanced with blackberry, black currant, dark cherries, pomegranates, tar, olive, wet stones, graphite, damp earth; oak integration of vanilla, cedar, smoke, tar- yep 2x, tobacco that create a beautiful mouth coating mouthfeel. Long finish? Very. Hold 3-5 more years but still fun to drink now if you like to be smacked in the face- in a good but firm way. 93+

  July 23, 2022 - Popped and poured. Dark, deep, glossy, and leggy. This wine is chock full of gutsy, ripe, rich fruit, including blackberries, tar, earth, toasty oak. There is a boatload of tannin, but it doesn't detract overmuch from this well-stuffed, bold wine. Just fills the mouth with gorgeous fruit--and the nose, while a bit more muted than the mouth, is no weak sister either. Long finish. You can drink this now if you give it a good long decant, or age it for 20 or more years. This should be exquisite in time. 5-12-17-9: 93/100.
