February 24, 2024 - Decanted 2hrs.
Still deep ruby in color.
Intense st Estephe nose with cassis, cedar, spice box and some menthol.
Medium body, present but soft tannins, medium acidity, juicy. Flavours are more muted and soft at this point compared to the nose, but they have good intensity and balance with a decent finish. still a good wine. Needs more time to open up and build some more meat.2 people found this helpful Comment -

December 15, 2023 - Decanted and filtered sediment. Dark wine with strong nose of cedar smoke, blackberry and slight mushroom. Taste is black cherry, plum, singed forest floor. Big, drying tannins leading to a long finish. Very good, if not a little heavy handed.
Tried 3 nights later from a clean bottle and the wine was much more polished. Light smoke balanced by ripe black cherry in nose. Similar palate with a touch of raisin. I missed the big tannins though! One more bottle (have been cellaring them since 2018) that I’ll try to wait another 5 years for.2 people found this helpful Comment -

November 1, 2023 - PnP, decanting recommended due to sediment, an inky black wine, dark fruits, juicy acidity, tannins have softened. Drinking nicely now. 90

October 23, 2023 - Good to very good. Lots of depth and substance in a very old world feel. The elegance of youth is now being replaced with more earthiness, while the depth of fruit remains. More improvement to come for the old wine lover...Ready for all others. Drink or Hold
