November 23, 2023 - I had read many of the recent tasting comments, all mentioning 4 hrs of decanting was needed. I was prepared for this, but still frankly surprised with how closed, almost acrid this wine was upon opening. Bottle cellared carefully, cork was in pristine condition. After 2 hrs, it still tasted the same, so moved it to a wide open container. By hour 3 it indeed began to blossom and after 4-5 hours was fantastic. All the notes of fruit, leather, depth, that one would hope for. Chemistry at work.

November 8, 2023 - Its amazing how elegant this wine shows at such a young age. Right at the entrance of its drinking window, there's no doubt that this will continue to put on weight in the right places. Again, CDB seems to have really dialed into a deep vain of minerality and it shows in its wines as a cross between deep graphite and earth. Elegant, soft and extremely persistent on exit, this is first growth quality Bordeaux. Drink or HOLD

September 5, 2023 - Deep, dark in color, the wine exudes a cigar box, tobacco leaf, flowers, black cherries, blackberries, crushed rock, clay, and lead pencil. If awards were given out for the most sensual vintage of Ducru Beaucaillou ever produced, 2015 earns the gold medal. Rich, full-bodied, opulent, sexy, and also vibrant, fresh, long, and intense, the fruit shows purity and intensity, but it is the silky textured, lingering finish that steals the show. Give this a few years and it is really going to shine. The wine blends 95% Cabernet Sauvignon with 5% Merlot. Drink from 2027-2060.

April 16, 2023 - This was one of the best 2015's we tasted in Bordeaux this week. It's beautifully refined and complex already with wonderfully pure dark red fruits that lead to a firm, structured finish. Medium-bodied and very fine with the smoothest tannins; I frankly couldn't believe how well it was drinking with a 2-hour decant. Avoids the slightly angular tannins of most left bank wines in this vintage and should clearly grow from here. 94+

March 5, 2023 - Académie des Cinquante Tasting and Dinner with the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux (Restaurant Entrepot, Amsterdam, NL): Walkaround tasting, brief note. Marvellous purity in the fruit expression, excellent balance, generous but very precise, beautiful oak integration, a stunning wine.

March 4, 2023 - Tasted double blind. Wow, amazing showing. The sweet, pure red fruits, the aromatic balance and restraint and the most elegant Cabernet structure make this a special wine. Despite being young, this was so great to drink. This shows again, that many 2015s are not really shutting down (which is not true for the 2016s) and that Ducru has significantly upped its game in recent years. 96/97pts.

TN: Expressive, seductive pure strawberry, raspberry nose, with some crushed rocks too. Very inviting and quite pure but sweet. On the palate there is such a fine red berries core (right bank like but without the ripeness of the right bank), very well complemented with crushed rocks, tobacco, truffles. Hardly perceptible tannins, good tension, so satin-like, light, airy structure. Superb balance.

Decanting: Quickly double decanted and put back in the bottle 12 hours prior to consumption which seemed perfect, only needed a few minutes in the glass to open up. So it needs some air.

March 2, 2023 - Tasted blind. Decanted 30min, but feel free to go longer. Intense, deep and concentrated with a primary, fruit-forward nose. Loads of cherry, on balance more red with elements of raspberry. Ripe and extracted with compliments of sweet notes such as vanilla. Almost New Worldly in style. Dense palate, but with a soft – almost stain-like texture. Unlike on the nose, the palate did add initial aging notes of leather and barnyard. Despite a very youthful appearance, the balance was impeccable. This may already be the best Ducru I’ve had, even ahead of 2018, 2000 and 1982.

February 11, 2023 - This wine was specifically selected and prepared by LiteItOnFire prior my dinner reservation with Papa33 and Lyrical Lawyer at Anhelo in Phoenix the weekend of the Super Bowl.

The wine was decanted in advance for approximately 4 hours and served out of a Reidel Winewings Cabernet glass. Knowing the wine in advance before ordering dinner, I paired the wine with an A5 Wagyu Strip steak.

The wine had beautiful aromas of fresh cut flowers, blue and black fruits and earth tones. The palate displayed black cherry, blueberry, blackberry and great minerality with noticeable graphite. The was medium acidity and fine grained tannins. The wine was medium to medium-full bodied with an elegant mouthfeel. It's not a full bodied heavily tannic wine but it has great finesse with good complexity. Maybe it gains weight with more time in the cellar but it's drinking beautifully today with a long decant.

My score is 95+ today with great upside with further cellaring. Thank you LIOF for a memorable experience!
