March 16, 2024 - This was quite beautiful, showing well at this stage - more open than the last two I had.

February 18, 2024 - Very nice in the nose - dark purple fruits and dried flowers. Palate is a bit anonymous and not particularly distinct, even after 2 hours in the decanter. Nothing incorrect, just a bit boring. Solid Bordeaux from riper vintage, but expected more from a classified growth. Could be just in hibernation.

December 8, 2023 - Now this has a delightful nose. Primary fruit for sure, but not lacking depth or complexity. Palate has good tension and structure. Wow, off the cork pull that this is a magnificent wine.

October 29, 2023 - Opened and decanted 90-min ahead of seared balsamic pork loin, roasted baked potatoes, and mixed apple-cranberry salad. Dark purple-crimson color. The floral nose brings intense spearmint, evergreen, grape menthol, chocolate-covered cherries, wild herbs, and pipe tobacco. The palate is medium-full, square, and compact, bringing a lovely dark fruit core of brambly blackberries, blueberries, and roasted plums intermixed with dark chocolate, espresso bean, vanilla bean and high-tone notes of juicy red cherries and raspberries that lingers into an extended tannic finish. In a good window but will be best 2025-2035. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

October 18, 2023 - Tasted over two days, alongside the same vintage Domaine de Chevalier.

Seductive floral and red fruit and berry-driven perfume, with dark berry, berry liqueur, summer potpourri, and 'sweet' herb (mint, wintergreen) top notes. So gorgeous! So Margaux!

Mind-bending textures, plush, rich, and expansive. Precise Cabernet Sauvignon-driven elements provide a stalwart core. Petit Verdot adds purple berry flavors and depth. Medium plus acid and medium tannin, balanced oak treatment. The alcohol, listed at 14.5, could be lower.

Everything points to a medium plus maturation curve. The challenge will be keeping one's hands off bottles over the long haul...as the wine sirens continuously and vociferously beckon. Bottles should reach maturity after 2035. Ridiculous QPR! 94-95.
