April 27, 2024 - Pop and pour. It's been a year since my last bottle. It is already very open from the beginning, full of floral and fruity aromas. Medium to full bodied, elegant, charming, mature and juicy.
January 14, 2024 - Very enjoyable Pomerol. Elegant and predominantly red-fruited, the La Pointe is rich but never fat. Good length and still with upside. Recommended and (given Pomerol standards) with good QPR.
January 13, 2024 - Blew me out of the water. Classic pomerol flavor , lovely tannins, got better in the glass. Would drink again. With girlfriend at Match in NYC.
November 23, 2023 - Pleasantly surprised by this. I was introduced to this wine with the '10 vintage at UGC back in the day and it impressed me so I've bought a few in the odd vintage. While the '14 was quite restrained and a bit lacking this one was very open and enticing. I was particularly surprised by oodles of sweet fruit. Quite classy and delicious. Glad I've a couple more.
Held up well on the 2nd night; feels like one to seek out. The sweet fruit was so concentrated and striking.
September 6, 2023 - Part of a Merlot night with my wine group at a Turkish Restaurant. This went really well with the Lamb Shank. Out of the 8 of us, most of us had this as their favorite.
June 28, 2023 - Uncork the bottle 1 hour in advance. Medium bodied, elegant and charming aroma. Lovely acidity, delicious and juicy.
June 3, 2023 - Very powerful nose, most likely due the high alcohol with notes of cedar and berries. Somewhat earthy.
The wine was very fruit forward with tastes of blackberry. I did not taste the earthiness that was present on the nose unfortunately, which made it somewhat one dimensional.
Tannins were not overwhelming, but this wine would probably be better next year.
May 6, 2023 - Deep garnet red with crimson red hues lots of black cherry a bit plum seducing dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Full bodied with silky textured tannins and excellent length
September 17, 2022 - After 90 minutes and double decanting, the medium nose of dark fruit was evident. The medium intense body and finish are typically Bordeaux.
This is a nice Pomerol, but not extraordinary.
August 17, 2022 - Bottle breathe for 1 hour. Dark ruby color. Very nice and classic. Beautiful creamy, tobacco and black fruit aromas. Tastes of chassis, earth, some toast and black cherry. This is quite complex and interesting.
