April 21, 2021 - This is really a under appreciated wine in a “sleeper” vintage. Tons of dark cherry fruit with grainy tannins in a youthful but enjoyable wine with lots of upside. Drink now with a decant or hold.

January 18, 2021 - Coravin fun - Lafon Rochet (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of cream, vanilla, sweet spice, slight alcohol prickle joins crunchy blackcurrant, plums and chocolate, polished. Medium plus intensity acidity, sweetly fruited, polished here as well, blackcurrant. Tannins are drying but quite finely textured, travels long and hand in hand with the fruit. Young but shows promise. Nice.

August 24, 2020 - Quite powerful, which is usually the case with this producer. This is still too tightly wound at this stage and definitely needs a few more years to unfurl. There is a lemon peal citrus aspect to the profile which is a bit surprising, almost a zestiness. 92+pts.

December 4, 2019 - Have had better Bordeaux than this but still a very fine vine. Needs more time.

November 12, 2019 - Medium weight. Brite red color. Juicy with a mid-level tannins and a pronounced acidity. Medium body. Very young. 10 year at least from peak. Raspberries and blueberries predominate with a slight confectionary sugar flavor in the background, though not off putting.
