March 28, 2021 - Poured and let sit in glass for 45 min; then drank over the next 45 min. Fairly typical pinot nose and taste on entry; taste is on the darker-fruited side, with maybe a bit of spice. Taste continues through the finish and beyond without any noticeable change, but the structure of the wine seems to fall apart. No tannin or body to speak of. Like it for the taste, but not so much for the mouthfeel. I would not hold too much longer.

September 22, 2020 - Excellent. Has put on some weight over the last year and is a more supple wine now. Smooth, lots of spice and herb flavors enhance the cherry and blackberry background. 90 pts

July 26, 2019 - Love me some Foxen. I guess that's why I'm a member. Sorry if that sounds douchey, but who wouldn't be a member of a place that makes the most drinkable wines in the Santa Barbara region, across the varietal spectrum? This one delivers, like they all do.

May 3, 2019 - A nice Pinot, but a bit simplistic. Great if you like the more earthy, wild, herby, tea flavors that pinots can have. An especially nice match with asian food flavors and marinades. Medium body, dark fruit frame, and only 13.4% alcohol. Nice spicy finish. Drink now - 2021.

November 18, 2018 - Drank at a party last night without notes. Remembered as a great wine with a balanced dark fruit and a great finish.

November 12, 2018 - Light color. Not a pleasant nose: peppery, stalky, and with some pyrazine weediness. The palate was decent but without some PN aromatics, no charm at all. Smelled and tasted more like an unripe Cab Franc from Virginia or the Loire.
