January 11, 2019 - See notes before. Already very drinkable young Emilion from a super vintage. 1 hour in the karaf.
    A treat..

June 16, 2018 - Tasted next to 2011. Ripe, dark fruit, concentrated, intense, spices, powerful and dense. Well balanced on the palate, again quite big, good acidity, ripe tannins, spicy. Very long, mineral finish. Lacks a bit of finesse maybe, but certainly impressive. 92-93+

May 21, 2018 - Another wine that is better from bottle than the barrel, the wine has richness, chocolate covered red fruits, licorice, and espresso. The texture is soft, polished and caressing, the fruit has ripeness, elegance and flesh. There is length in the sweet, fruity finish. This is the best vintage of Trotte Vieille I have ever tasted!

May 4, 2016 - Welcome to Merlot Al Dente #Bdx15 - and other tales from Saint Emilion (Bordeaux, actually tasted during en primeur week): Very refined, cool Cabernet Franc-driven ripe red fruit expressions, yet with plenty of body and tannin, even if high in alcohol, which is better managed than many other Saint Emilions. Tasted again at Batailley and it was gorgeous. A top performer in Saint Emilion this year. 91-93+

April 29, 2016 - Licorice, sweet cherries, flowers and bitter chocolate open the nose. On the palate, this wine is plush, polished and fruity with freshness and character. The wine was produced from a blend of 49% Merlot, 49% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. The harvest took place from September 28 to October 9. The is aged in 100% new, French oak barrels. If this puts on a bit more weight during the aging process, it could easily merit a higher score.
