April 26, 2023 - My last of six bottles and the best by far. This has evolved to where it is showing hints of a Northern Rhone pedigree. A truly age-worthy Syrah.
April 18, 2023 - Slightly past peak but enjoyable Still good fruit with a dusty overtone Decent finish
February 28, 2021 - On the sweeter/jammier/thicker side. Was not best on it's own but worked well with meat and fondue.
January 30, 2021 - My last bottle of 4, and this wine has never really shown me much of anything. It's "fine," but doesn't show much varietal character. It's big, smooth, short finish, but there's not a lot of acid, smoky/meaty notes, spice, etc. It's just kind of there.
January 17, 2021 - Excellent, well balanced Washington Syrah, from a consistent producer. Better on day 2.
April 9, 2020 - A great Walla Walla Syrah and a real bargain at the 16.50 on Last bottle
March 29, 2020 - A really good buy on Last Bottle at $16.50. Drink up, however.
February 6, 2020 - this was a real bargain on Last Bottle at $1650. Amavi is one of the better Walla Walla Rhone producers, and this wine matched its reputation.
December 25, 2019 - I'm usually blown away by Amavi Cellars wine...but not so much with this Syrah. It is a solid balanced wine with a medium short finish. I liked it better with food than on it's own. Extended air time did not improve overall taste. Will try again later in 2020 to see if it improves with age.
November 29, 2019 - In line with past notes. Smoke is abundant on top of the dark fruits. I appreciate the lack of RS in this wine, and terroir-driven nature.
