November 28, 2021 - I taste the 2013 and contemplate that the Rosso Sorgente is no more, with all of its fruit now going to make Brunello di Montalcino. And so, yes, I wish I bought cases. The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino has matured into a lovely and delicate expression with an underlying power that shows through its palate presence and ever-lasting finale. A deep bouquet of dusty stone, shavings of cedar, dried strawberries and hints of spearmint make this irresistible from the first tilt of the glass. There's a driven and focused feel to the palate, like a whiplash of tension, as silken textures are quickly firmed up by tart berries, zesty acids and a salty-savory flourish toward the close. While still structured, this tapers off remarkably pretty and soothing as notes of blueberry, tobacco and hints of pecan taper off. In the end, it's hard to argue with the new direction at Salicutti because the prestige of this fruit is undeniable.

September 11, 2021 - Extreme quality. By accident I left this one open over the night, approximately for 9 hours, then put the cork in again. When I opened it the next evening it was shining. What does that tell you. A Rosso punching way way way above it’s weight!!!

November 30, 2019 - A very, very good Rosso. Right up there with Cerbaionas and Salvionis Rosso’s. Beautiful sangiovese nose of bitter cherries. Fresh and super fruity, very energetic. Mouthfilling with a supernice aftertaste. It’s rather costly but this one is if a class very rarely seen in Rosso’s. Will last at least 3 years but I would say it’s at it’s peak.

October 23, 2019 - Still overall very good, really could use more time for development, but tastes pretty classy now. Seems borderline hot at times, but manages to balance it out.
