July 27, 2019 - Strangely a little heat on this one, burnt off after a few hours in the decanter.

April 25, 2019 - very sophisticated nose.. quite 'funky' very un-Barossa type.... dark berries with deep layers of texture.... a very satisfying experience.

February 10, 2019 - It's gorgeous. Big red fruit driven wine that isn't jammy, just concentrated with a long soft finish. I'm glad I bought three bottles. Strange that the convenient, over-priced wine store near my home is selling this for $56, which is a bargain. I am tempted to find a new vintage and compare it with my one remaining bottle.

May 7, 2018 - Superb. Tasted blind with some other great wines, and this was WOTN. It is in a special place and drinking perfectly right now. There is a prominent oak flavor but it is well integrated into the wine. It has a nice elegant finish. This is better than the bottle I tasted just a few months ago.

March 28, 2018 - Really fantastic & sophisticated Syrah --worlds apart from the stereotypical Aussie fruit/oak bomb.

January 31, 2018 - Enjoyed alongside 02 Opus One, 2013 Trefethen Dragon's Tooth, 2003 Cakebread Cab (from a magnum), 2009 Anderson's Conn Valley Reserve Cab, and 1996 Lynch Bages. Compared to all the rest, this was a major punch in the mouth (in a good way). Massively powerful and brooding..... not sure I'd want to drink this with anything other than a Ribeye. That being said, its tannins are wonderfully integrated and its in peak form. While it could probably go another 5 years, it's in a really nice spot right now. Drink now or hold. I believe that Two Hands bought this winery out and makes a single vineyard from this site - would be interested to try to acquire some.

August 21, 2017 - Enjoyed over two days, and paired with smoked chicken, and twice baked potato salad on both days. Decanted on day one, very youthful appearance and full bodied., Although it was much more subdued on Day 2, it displayed lots of boldness, concentration, complexity, and intensity on the first day. Aromas and flavors of smokey dark berries, tart plum, mixed black and red licorice, black olive, charred meat, savory mixed herbs, and dusty earth. Some of the fruit had faded by day 2, but nonetheless, it was still excellent. Tannins are well integrated, and noticeable acidity supports a long finish. Nicely done.
