    November 5, 2019 - Thoroughly decanted 1 hr before serving. Still very tannic and dark, but enjoyable with the right food. Will taste again tomorrow night. Should be better in a year or 2. I hope the fruit holds up.

    January 13, 2019 - Much better than last bottle tasted almost 3 years ago. Tannins smoothed out 2nd day, and fruit was perhaps more evident. Not complex, and no trace of oak or cedar, but since I have more, I'll wait another year and see what happens.

    January 15, 2018 - Just not enough going on here- still retaining healthy color and good aroma, but the structure is lacking and it's slowly falling apart.

    L’attaque est belle, ronde et d’apparence juteuse, puis suit un creux au milieu, avec des tanins secs en finale, qui le rendent astringent.
    Je n’ai rien contre la classique austérité bordelaise, mais celui-ci est vraiment trop sévère pour un vin avec une portion de merlot dominante (70%). On semble avoir raté ce grand millésime. Encore jeune mais je n’y trouve pas l’équilibre qui amènerait un bien meilleur vin dans quelques années, les tanins me semblant trop durs. Croiser les doigts et revoir dans trois à cinq ans. 85 (+?) pts

    September 26, 2017 - Surprisingly young colour. Medium dark, still somewhat closer to garnet than ruby and absolutely no bricking at the edges. I've tasted most vintages since 1981, and this is clearly the one that has retained the most purple for the longest time. On the nose, the bouquet, though somewhat timid, is very nice combining vanilla, tobacco and both red and black/blue fruit. On the palate, the attack is frank with aromas of blueberry, blackberry and a touch of cassis and cherry. That being said, the tannin is still quite hard and present. Length is medium to medium-long with nice blackberry presence on the finale. I had this with flank steak served rare hoping it would soften the tannin, but it barely does. Regardless, this reminds me of some 1986s - where the balance between the fruit and the tannin tended to end up having the fruit vanish and the tannin survive, but which made the wine uninteresting. Same as when I tasted this early 2015 - not sure it will evolve well in the long run and it is not great today, simply good (?). My recommendation, drink this now to enjoy what remains of the primary and secondary fruit and perhaps keep one or two to taste in 4-6 years or so to see which side tannin vs fruit it ended up on. 87-88
