April 24, 2024 - Tasted in a flight with other Rieslings from Wachau at the same level and same vintage. This stood out by having by far the best balance and depth of fruit. On the nose there's a moderate tone of citrus, but also some hints of the tropics. Full yet fresh, with excellent length. Classy wine.

January 24, 2020 - This showed less well than the one a year ago. The wine feels riper and less balanced this time around. It's still delicious and has classic and enticing aromas, but it's without the laser beam of mineral, energy, and focus that for me defines this wine.

January 20, 2019 - Beautiful on the nose with pungent aromas of orchard fruit that veers towards tropical but doesn’t fully go there. Floral and strong mineral notes too. Very fleshy and full on the palate, but essentially balanced, it seems. Still tightly coiled and I can’t tell much more yet, but seems like a very good wine in the making.

December 15, 2017 - Very floral with a rather dark and more heavy body. Not so elegant for the time being. Interesting to see the development with more time.

September 14, 2017 - Prager Dinner with Robert Bodenstein (Chicago, IL): In comparison to the GVs, I think the 2015 rieslings (both this and the Klaus) seemed to suffer a bit from being so young. This didn't feel like it had fully integrated yet, with the mineral aspects not in sync with the fruit (it felt like you were tasting them separately). A bit interesting to me as well was the attenuated acidity here, which I thought detracted from the experience.

April 30, 2016 - Despite a certain tightness, awesome depth and purity of fruit on the nose, notes of crushes stones. On the palate lots of power, like an arrow in its precision and energy, pure, juicy fruit, bright acidity and saline minerality. Long and lingering. Excellent. Compared to Rudi Pichler's Achleithen maybe even more purist. 95-96+
