October 9, 2021 - Charming and elegant, with lots of laid-back red fruit. Silky-textured and subtly spicy. Not the most impactful bottle of CNDP, nor the most complex, but delightful in its own way.

October 3, 2021 - Sadly my last bottle but was heat tainted. Source was Premier Cru. Go figure

September 25, 2021 - Wow this was a perfect pairing with slow roasted lamb shoulder! Nose is still quite primary and powerful with coffee bean, orange liquor, dried herbal undertones, some forest floor and lots of dark fruit, while the flavour profile is similar the palate is quit juxtaposed in that it’s silky, elegant and fresh and it’s got a great finish

September 4, 2021 - I filtered this wine through a screen and decanted for roughly 90 minutes. Decanting/filtering is recommended as there is some significant sediment caked on the bottle and loose on the screen (despite standing this bottle up for a couple of months). This is a solid red wine. On the exceptional nose, I get scrubland, thyme, leather, singed herbs, and strawberry jam. The sensation on the mouth is a step down, but still brings juicy, dark fruits with a coiled-yet-full aspect. The finish displays a sweet lushness, with chewy tannins and an occasional hint of heat. Overall, this is a classic bottle of CdP. It is showing well today but will last for many years. This is a special bottle for me personally that is linked to some fond memories and it delivered to expectations this evening. 93 points.

August 15, 2021 - Tasted over 3 hrs, bottle from secondary market
    -med dark red no bricking
    -plum licorice smoke
-med/med- acidity, med+ weight faded slightly roasted dark fruit licorice some heat on finish accentuates the med/med- tannins
-still a beast, should continue to evolve for many more years though the residual heat may become more imbalanced

(Domaine de Pegau Châteauneauf-du-Pape, Rhône) Aromas of dark fruits—plum, black cherry, fig—and hints of earthiness. This bold wine bridges the gap between the older, classic styles of the region and the more modern, “cleaned-up” versions. It’s intensely flavored and full-bodied, with layers of complexity and the structure to age beautifully for many years to come. Hot Picks
