April 23, 2020 - Excellent.
December 27, 2019 - Showing really well right now. Black and blue fruits to start, a bit of sandalwood and eucalyptus if you hunt for it. This is a solid value.
February 19, 2019 - Hilton head
May 13, 2018 - Disappointing overall. Was highly recommended, but did not live up to its billing. Decanted and drunk over several hours. Not as complex, smooth, or tasty as expected. An OK wine, but many are better for the $40 price IMHO.
April 23, 2018 - ....very smooth; red fruit with a lightness on the palate and finish
December 8, 2017 - Enjoyed the bottle! On opening the tannins were to heavy for the wieght of the wine, but 2 hours decanted balanced everything out really well. I would not decant this to long or to much structure will fade. It’s not a mtn cab, but a blend, so it opens up pretty fast young. This is a great red for a home chef. Easy to find no cellar required decant when you start cooking and it’s ready to go.
November 22, 2017 - Medium to light body with subtle sweetness
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper.
October 13, 2017 - Tasted blind from a gift by my wife. Dark red fruit, black fruit, cocoa powder, cassis, silky smooth, nice balance. It was a little tight at first, but opened up nicely after 2 hours in bottle.
September 30, 2017 - Thought this was better (more balanced) on day 2. Alcohol listed at 14.9, not sure I believe that. Made in a crowd-pleasing style - very approachable with dark cherry fruit and broad, plush texture with a definite sweetness to the nose and palate, probably attributable to the higher alcohol.
May 7, 2017 - Decanted about an hour ahead of consumption, and that seems about right to me. Sweet blackberry fruited, good tannic structure and an impressive purity of expression for wine in this price range. With a slow-smoked brisket this was a winner.
