November 22, 2019 - Side by side tasting with the silica a second time around (the first was at the winery). Out of the bottle we liked the silica better. Initially this was very fruit forward, with predominant notes of strawberry, cherry and raspberry. However, after sitting an hour and over the next couple of days, the depth intensified.

March 11, 2018 - Tasted both the 2013 Alluvia and Silica side-by-side. Group overall liked the Alluvia a little better. Softer tannins and more red fruit, medium finish. The Silica had a stronger character to it - a little more acid and minerality. Both were very good.

September 8, 2017 - PnD 2/3 bottle let air for 1hr. Dark dense almost saturated purple black with plum to clear rim. Black cherry blackberry cassis plum sage fennel and clay on the nose. Medium weight with nicely plumped ripe but not over ripe tannins. Blue and red fruits on the palate with a touch of herbs earth and minerals. Big deep sleek and elegant. St. Emilion meets BC.

December 22, 2016 - Winery: A limited production, single vineyard Merlot from Intersection’s estate vineyard. Deep rock and silt soils produce an age-worthy wine of purity, elegance, and structure with bold notes of dark wild cherry and licorice. A true example of how soil composition can deeply effect a wine’s flavour, as the much different “Silica” wine is made with the same grapes, only planted meters apart in different soil types.
