November 23, 2023 - Oh wow. Big p, rich nose - berries, earth, garrigue; it felt like a full mouthful of flavor without taking a sip. And the first sip had everything the nose promised. Overpowering? I think not. Exactly right. A delicious melange of flavors. Add some dark chocolate and black coffee to the aromas. This wine was something else; out of this world.
November 18, 2023 - Sexy! Drinking perfectly. All that you want from a CdP. Olive. Garrigue. Violets. Velvet tannins. Sill has a lot left.
October 5, 2023 - WCC Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blind Dinner (The Chef's Table in Café Capriccio, Albany, NY): [Double-decanted for 35 minutes around 5:30pm.] Bright cherry nose. Rich spicy red fruit. The acidity is a bit high for me. Group #1 WOTN.
May 6, 2023 - heavy sediment
decanted off
fruit and herb on nose
palate similar but not complex
very good to excellent
worth the wait compared to 04 which was a pruney hot mess
February 8, 2023 - when first opened, the wine seemed overly tannic and closed. After breathing for two hours the wine opened nicely with aromas of spiced berries.
October 1, 2022 - Disjointed; sweet mature fruit with harsh tannins.
July 30, 2022 - Opened for about 2 hours which gave it a chance to open up and soften up. Continues to drink well - good fruit with a light tannins, mildly dry
July 4, 2022 - Now that I finally gave these enough time to age, it mellowed out and is much more balanced than previous bottles. Ready to drink.
July 1, 2022 - very nicely balanced wine. Good fruit, tannins, long finish. Opened and drank immediately and was good. An hour later much better. Can't imagine it getting much better.
June 12, 2022 - Dense plum and black fruit, with kirsch and raspberry notes. Adding peppery spice in the mouth.
Approaching maturity, probably still 10 years before it’s drinking window closes.
