April 9, 2023 - Last reviewed in 2018 I still find this rather stern and unexpressive. It feels like the product of a cooler vintage and I wouldn't bet on it blossoming, but its not about to fall over either.

November 19, 2022 - Drinking perfectly right now with nearly 10 years of age. Tannins are soft and resolved. The profile is a little richer but the fruit is still prominent and cherry driven with hints of earth and leather. This wine performs very well when bought young and tucked away for a few years in the cellar and the 2013 is a great example of that.

August 9, 2022 - This is a bottle that I misplaced years ago and recently found in my cellar. I had hoped that serendipity would portend a transcendental drinking experience. Alas, it was not to be. Extraordinarily tight and tannic, this tasted like a sample from tank. I don't know if it is in a "dumb" phase or if there is some sort of fault at play (I detected no TCA), but this was really disappointing. I absolutely adored this bottle when it was young.

January 8, 2022 - Nearly 5 years since my last note has done this wine plenty of favours. The bright sappy cherries are still there but the fierce tannin has subdued, although the wine is still better with food.

August 1, 2021 - Drank over two days. Better than expected. Wasn’t going do open it yet but the cork had started to push against the cap so I got worried. Turned ok, thankfully. Was quite austere at first, but on day two it opened up in a very pleasant way. Classic Chianti Classico on the nose, balanced, medium plus body on the palate. Beautiful aftertaste following the usual sour cherry, red currants, cinnamon and anis fruit. Very satisfying! If I had more and my storage conditions were great I’d keep one for at least another 5-10 years, because this feels it has much longer to go.

June 1, 2021 - Nice drink but still relatively grippy, needed a couple of hours decanting and smoothed out as bottle went on. Nicely balanced with sour black cherries.

December 7, 2020 - All parts well integrated now, spices mixed with cherries, but those fruits are toning down, before the tertiary aromas appear. It is a good representation of the winery style. This one would be interesting to try in 3-5y.

September 14, 2020 - Gang of 5 in Covid19 times; Chianti Classico (@ RW): Vanilla and herbs in the bouquet. On the palate dark and red berries, a firm amount of juicy acidity, spicy and juicy. Very ok wine.
