April 19, 2021 - An oddball flavor that we have not had before... and it's not entirely pleasant. Some people think Zinfandel descends from the Primativo grape, but we drink a lot of Zin and it isn't in this line.

April 21, 2017 - Pnp a glass and then left the bottle open for 2 days in the fridge before trying again. In managed to put on some weight and was great to drink. Has a lot of characteristics that remind me of an aged port except it's not sweet. Still pretty tannic so will lay the remaining bottles down for a couple of years before trying again.

March 31, 2017 - A solid wine. Initially a bit austere, but then better after a few hours in the glass (and the next day). Sumptuous fruit-forward on entry with delicious dark and purple fruits. Good body with tannins present but kept in check. The secondary flavors actually went away on day 2 (initially with some olive tapenade type flavor). Definitely open to trying more primitivo.

December 16, 2016 - A bit young and fruit forward, but good acidity and texture. Some balancing earth and leather came through with air.

July 29, 2016 - Very rich, dark, concentrated fruit, somehow manages to not be stewed, raisiny, or cloying, but is right on the edge of those things. Not much nose initially on opening. Saved half the bottle to try on day 2...
