January 22, 2021 - No formal notes, but this wine went nicely with a Veal Saltimbooca.
January 17, 2019 - certainly mature and dominated by dark fruits - quite delicious - no rush
December 6, 2018 - Elegant, classic, maybe even a little wondrous. All the classic earth and leather and muted fruit of a well-aged Brunello. Drink now.
September 3, 2018 - aged Brunello, drinking very well now, smooth - might not have a lot of years left but very nice now
February 12, 2018 - - Brick color with slow forming legs and aromas of smokey, cedar and tea. It's in total harmony and has flavours of blackberry, black currant, fig and black pepper with a full body. Smooth texture with a long finish - Slight pencil shavings on the nose. Spicy, rich dark fruit finish.
January 30, 2016 - Similar notes to prior bottle (May 2015). However, overall, the wine has softened and lost more of its complexity through the middle than I would've expected. It could've just been negative bottle variation or served a little cold as it was first opened at cellar temperature. Not completely sure this wine was built for the long haul. If you have some left, worth trying to see where they are for you.
May 17, 2015 - Last opened a bottle of this about 15 months ago and it has improved as expected in the interim. Blackfruit, tea and earth on the nose. Mostly blackfruit flavors with soft black raspberry upfront, backed with black cherry and starting to shade in redfruit qualities. Tannins are fine grained, but picks up a good amount of strength into and through the finish where it has good length and good acidity. Balance and integration are the strengths of this wine. It may improve slightly with a bit more time, but it's approaching peak and if you enjoy the blackfruit expression of brunello this a good example and drinking very well now.

August 9, 2014 - same modernist stuff, now a little better, but soft and oaky....
February 9, 2014 - Blackfruit and rose on the nose. Seemed tight at first, but really opened up after two hours. Shows all black raspberry flavors at first and then adds in black cherry in the background. Builds strongly towards the finish with notes of leather and coffee. Not completely silky yet, but it’s headed in that direction. Good structure and length on the finish. This wine should improve over the short term as I think it will integrate and soften further.
