June 18, 2021 - Guys dinner with DJ Warner in Houston. Several Keplinger wines presented by DJ and a good friend brought this bottling to dinner. SC 14 was consumed along side Keplinger's 16 OR Vineyard as the highlight of the night.

Unfortunately no formal notes. 8 guys sitting at the table and we each had one glass. No decant. I remember this wine had beautifully silky tannins. Excellent showing for the brief display. Wish I could have tasted this stand alone with a note pad as dinner was finished with old fashions. What happened!?

January 30, 2021 - This wine was constantly evolving through the 8 hours we had it open. Notes are for where it kind of settled after 5-6 hours.

Dark fruits on the nose with some underpinning red berry—strawberry, raspberry—pencil shaving, dirt, floral aromas.

Sits lightly on the tongue but has a ton of structure. Dark fruit notes carry through along with a good dose of spice. A lot of tannins but they remain graceful. Nice acid.

Finish is not overpowering. Medium plus length.

This is a fabulous wine that still needs a lot of time in the bottle.

Vanilla in the nose. Beautiful tannins and silkiness.
