August 29, 2023 - Was austere upon open, but blossomed nicely after 90 or so minutes of air. Dark cherries, tabacco, and some mineral on the nose. Sour cherries and dark berries on the pallete. Long finish. Grippy tannins, but in a friendly, lingering way. Still very silky. Would be fun to see how this matures more fully in the coming years. Absolutely drinkable now; absolutely holdable if you prefer the deeper flavor profile. Either way an amazing bottle.

March 11, 2022 - Young Barolo already drinking superbly. Drunk over three nights - during which it did not change - from Zalto Denk'Art Burgundy stem. Deep ruby colour, with a touch of garnet at the rim. Aromatic and lifted with black cherry, spice, dark plum, espresso and red rose perfumes. A mouth of tar, balsamico, sour cherry, dark earth, black currant and black liquorice. Polished and sleek. Silky texture. Elegant but serious, sandy tannins. Fresh, bright acidity. Dense and a little chewy. Long. All class. Already delicious but I would expect it to further integrate and improve. Ideally hold until 2025+. Presently 94+ but it may well go higher.

October 29, 2021 - Dark, balsamic, lavender, lots of licorice and orange rim. This feels a bit rustic in the mouth but still elegant. Tannins rise towards the end with a mineralic end. At the same time it has drive and something electrifying. Early drinking window, but fun to try one now.

August 31, 2021 - I drank this wine on several nights over three weeks with coravin. In my initial tastings, I thought it obviously needed way more time to soften the tannins and expand the tight flavor profile. But tonight, it tastes about right to my tastes, even a little delicious. Whether these different impressions are due to a change in the wine, a change in me, or both, I'm not sure. I am sure that this is a good wine and that aging it for at least a few more years is a good idea.

October 17, 2019 - Medium expressive nose displaying slightly dry black fruit, black cherry, dry cherry, fruitcake, strong animal that I often find in Beaujolais, licorice, balsamico, leather, rare steak, sweet spices and earth. Excellent concentrated, nicely layered ripe black fruit, deeply toned, warm and rich, medium acidy and mineral, noticeable tannins and a long sweet black fruit driven finish with animal and licorice at the end. Although, the ample fruit makes this enjoyable, it will take another two decades to reach the peak. Solid showing.
