December 27, 2023 - Prior bottle was only 7 months ago, so my notes were quite similar. White and yellow peach, white and yellow apple, apricot, white pineapple and mineral notes on a nose that continues to be quite aromatic. Medium bodied with white apple and peach upfront, adding hints of yellow apple and peach through the middle. Pear, lemon and tangerine towards the back, coupled with acidity provides very good contrast, balancing nicely the added depth shown through the middle. Continues to open up through the middle and the acidity and fruit show improved balance over my prior bottle, as I'd hoped. I'll save my last bottle for Fall 2024.

May 24, 2023 - Prior bottle was 19 months ago and this wine has evolved quite positively in that time, along the lines i'd hoped. White peach, white apple and other, mixed white orchard fruits on the nose. Seemed more aromatic and richer than prior bottles. Medium bodied with white and yellow apple and peach upfront and through the middle. These are backed by white apple and pear for contrast. More depth through the middle than I recalled from my prior bottles. The tropical notes on the backside are coming much more clearly into focus. The acidity, while still a clear presence, is much more in balance with the fruit. Combined with the tangerine, lemon and mineral notes on the backside, works really well with the now more expressive mid-body. Should continue to evolve along these lines and I may open my next bottle as soon as late Fall 2023.

September 10, 2022 - Lemon tart, slight typical S-F scent, slate minerality, bit of ripeness in the nose, good structure, fells quite rich for a Spätlese due to the moderate acidity

October 21, 2021 - Prior bottle was just over a year ago and my notes were virtually identical. White apple and pear along with green melon on the nose. Medium bodied with white apple and pear upfront. Broadens through the middle and brings in white peach. The mid-body might be a touch more open than the prior bottle was. Tart tropical qualities continues to dominate the backside. Tangerine, lemon, lime and acidity through the finish. There's lots of acidity here still, but the balance with the fruit notes is slowly improving. There's a lot more complexity remaining to be revealed and I really need to be patient and hold my next bottle until at least Summer 2023, perhaps even Fall 2023.

October 10, 2020 - Prior bottle was nearly 14 months ago and this wine is improving slowly along the lines I'd hoped. White apple and pear along with tart, green melon on the nose. Medium bodied with apple and peach upfront along with lots of acidity. Mid-body is slowly starting to open up, showing more white peach qualities and just starting to show tropical highlights (especially pineapple) towards the back. Much of this is still concealed by the acidity, but it's more noticeable than it was with the prior bottle. Tangerine, lemon and lime continue to make up the backside. The acidity, which previously was so strong it simply felt like a blanket over everything has become more balanced with the fruit. It's starting to take on the racy, lively, almost electric quality I was looking for. This wine is only starting to show its potential. While I'll drink the '10, '11 and '12 in Fall 2021, I will save the '14, 15 and (after tomorrow) the '16 for Fall 2022. Worth holding as the mix of fruit and acidity has the potential to be something special with a bit more time.
