November 13, 2022 - Pop and pour. Grassl Cru glass. Tasted and then let the wine sit for a bit before enjoying with food (caldo Verde and Cottage Pie, in case you were wondering).
    Dark purple garnet color.
Nose offers dark fruit, red clay, and hint of balsamic.
Dark fruited on the palate with good acidity to give the wine lift.
Nice finish. Hint of balsamic on he finish.
    Delicious.

Fair natural cork; branded with vintage.
    13% abv.
    Greve in Chianti.

March 2, 2018 - Excellent wedding anniversary lunch at Fratini La Trattoria. Bottle off the wine list. Drank over 2 hours. Needed about half an hour of air in bottle to get going.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of black cherries, spice, black licorice, hints of leather and earth. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), silky high tannins becoming more dusty with air, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, juicy black cherries, spice, licorice, salty minerality, olive. Medium+ finish.
Good quality. Good concentration for 2014. Probably the effect of old vines.
100% Sangiovese. From vineyards in the village of Ruffoli, located in Greve.
May become more open with another year or two of age.
