January 15, 2023 - A little lighter than usual Sanfords. Nice, but not remarkable.
January 3, 2023 - Was very pleasantly surprised by this. From a magnum. Great nose. Still vibrant in the mouth. Layers of pinot fruit and spice. Great balance. Acidity. Tannin and finish. Yum
April 9, 2022 - In a great place. Santa Rta nose and palate with resolved tannin.
February 13, 2021 - Over-oxidized and drank as a much older wine.
Cork was mushy, and showed signs of leakage and/or high temperature variation. Drinkable but flawed.

June 27, 2019 - A very pleasant Pinot, but not as bold as other Central Coast Pinots. Fairly complex with a long finish.
June 5, 2019 - Sanford Wine Dinner (Washington, DC): On the nose, waves of raspberries, red cherries, summer plums, with roses, cinnamon, sweet herbs and flowers. Really velvety on the palate, the texture is rich but lively, and the fruit (black cherry, raspberry) shows a lot of concentration, yet the freshness is always there. Complexities of pepper, minerals, violets, savory spices and wild herbs. Tangy and lively with a long time to go.
August 16, 2018 - Sanford Cellar Visit and Tasting (Lompoc, CA): Popped-and-poured at Sanford. Also mostly black fruit with slightly greater density and nuance vs the Rinconada. Good now, upside from here.
