February 21, 2012 - Spoofed wine that is practically undrinkable. Obviously not the best grapes that are face lifted and made up, wine manipulation par excellente

February 12, 2010 - Purple in color. Big nose of blue and black fruits with some toasted oak intertwined. Big blueberries and toasted oak caress the front and middle palate while an earthy edge dominates the long finish. Still has a lot of life left. Drink or hold a few more years.

March 19, 2008 - Opened this on Thanksgiving and only drank half the bottle. It was still tight and tannic but showing more than on previous occassions. We left bottle open overnight. To my surprise, it was really singing the next day. The tannins had softened quite a bit and their was more apparent fruit.

October 16, 2006 - A very well-made, well-balanced merlot with a lot of softness to it. But this was just too austere for my liking, with very little fruit beyond the standard merlot flavor profile. Not sure if this is shut down, or what. But the hype surrounding this bottle --NYT called it the one of the best merlots yet produced on LI-- and the $35 price tag have me disappointed, particularly after a promising tasting at the winery last summer.

July 4, 2006 - Impressive heft, considering how slight many Long Island reds are. Thick, rich and almost chocolately, with some fruit. A bit too tannic for optimal current drinking, but if they fade with a little time, this could easily be a 90-91 point bottle.
