April 17, 2018 - My 19th bottle from 2 cases purchased 2 years ago. Thought I should leave at least 1 note before they go.

A lovely aged spat (more comparable to a kab by todays standards). Attractively curvy across the palate, with a mix of stone and orchard fruits, some light diesel notes, plenty of Mosel minerals, and a bright clean finish. Age has softened and rounded the fruit but it's the acid and minerals which give this lift, structure, and life.

August 18, 2017 - Each successive bottle of this wine seems to be better than the last. Great with Asian food.

August 13, 2017 - I like this much better than my first bottle. The mid palate and finish have filled in better. More orchard, rather than stone, fruits this time. A little petrol and cat pee on the entry. Citrus and almonds (??) on the long crisp finish.

August 9, 2017 - This is a German Riesling (QMP) that is holding up well at 16 years young. 8% ALC, plenty of acid as a foundation, nice stone fruit and mineral character . Good value at $40.

August 6, 2017 - Good initial attack (stone fruits and citrus), but then the wine fell off dramatically in the mid palate and never recovered. Some petrol notes on the finish. Came across as kind of watery.

The cork in this bottle was terribly dried out (eventually, we had to punch it into the bottle and filter the wine through a Vinturi screen). Maybe this contributed to the flatness. With 5 more bottle in the cellar, I'm hoping this one was an anomaly.
