March 28, 2016 - Polished! This 04 is still pushing out black fruits and Good & Plenty licorice action. Excellent!
September 13, 2015 - Last bottle from the good old days. Opened to go with our efforts to recreate the Halal Guys chicken and lamb. To be honest, I was thinking of this bottle as a throw away or "drink it up" situation as I was not thrilled with my last bottle. It goes to show what this old teletubby does not know about holding quality non CDP wines from the southern rhone. This one is fantastic - it's aged down, smoothly balanced and showing a ton of gracefully presented local flava.
October 13, 2012 - Representing nicely with rich black fruit and some garrigue but too spirity for me.
November 14, 2009 - Licorice, incense and black fruits lead the way on the nose of this Cairanne big boy. The palate shows the richness of the 15.5% alcohol without much heat and there's lots garrigue and earthiness to go along with the ample ripe fruit.
June 6, 2008 - Wow, this a a beautiful bottle of wine - maybe a bit more modern that Greenblanket would prefer in a perfect world but beautiful and exceptionally well made. It featured lovely pure flavors and aromas of black fruit and Provencal herbs and spices. The only oak Greenblanket detected was in some subtle supporting notes of vanilla. The lovely concentrated beams of fruit were supported and balanced by great tannic and acidic structure. A long finish featured pure black fruit and sweetly earthy notes of spice and herb. This wine blows the doors off some well known CdPs that Greenblanket has enjoyed recently. Outstanding
December 15, 2007 - very nice black raspberry, liquorice and pepper; big but not heavy; oak influences are not too strong (and i am not an oak fan); somewhat unique and really nice;
June 9, 2007 - This was hand carried from the Domaine by No Spit. It was a beautiful gleaming purple in the glass and had a deep nose of plum, blackberry and spicy garrigue. This wine was very intensely concentrated and young with blackberry and prominent but very fine ripe tannins. The finish was long with the same intense blackberry and licorice. There is oak here but I found it to be in a subtly balanced supporting role. Powerful and very sexy and I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be something quite special in two or three years. Fantastic!
December 22, 2006 - Deep purple. Blackberries nose with only slight hint of funk. Very concentrated black berries - like a powerful cab. A little too heavy on the oak. Good balance and long finish, but oaky.
