January 6, 2023 - Great to come back to this classic Maipo CS made from over 70 years old vines. Wine was aged for 16 months in new FR oak. Deep opaque ruby red colour. Medium intensity deep aroma of leather with barnyard hints, cassis, tar, sweet tobacco, blackberries, prunes, touch of earth. Full body, powerful and concentrated but rather restrained and well balanced structure, opulent flavours of black smoky fruits, tar and hint of vanilla concludes with refreshing medium acidity and melted tannins.

October 28, 2018 - Nice but not great. Good fruit, quite perfumed. Casis, blackcurrant and damson. soft tannin and lowish acidity, medium+ body. Some depth and medium length finish.

August 18, 2017 - The nose leaping out of the glass with tremendous power and interest, intense Cassis/ slowing down though on the palate, lacking focus and tannin. Certainly good and needs some bottle age. 90 now maybe more another time.

November 13, 2016 - Pure cassis, black cherry and shavings of chocolate. Slightly lacking in mid-palate but impressively long finish. May improve to 92-4 in time.
