  April 23, 2019 - Dark inky purple color. There has to be petit sirah in here. Probably healthy doses of zin, cab, and syrah too. Jammy fruit and spice aromas rise from the glass. The palate is full of juicy, extracted blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry, black plum, and boysenberry flavors. Non-fruit elements include coffee, tobacco, chocolate, and oak. Still, this wine is a major fruit bomb, full bodied and dry. Tannins are medium, acidity is medium, alcohol is high. The term 'Baby Camus" gets thrown around a lot, and although I do not think it fully applies to this wine, the Wagner style is definitely on display here. Paired with barbecue, this wine was more enjoyable than on its own.
