September 10, 2022 - Oddero's 2013 Gallina is a super classic, young Barbaresco. Yet, it has lot of appeal already, as the tannin is fine and the fruit crisp and rather bright, showing rose petal, some purplish florals, wild strawberries, dollops of candied red fruits, mild spicyness and a savory mineral undertone. Elegant and with leading sinewy muscles and agility, this appears to be a dancer. A really gorgeous Barbaresco to adore vintage after vintage.

October 3, 2020 - Tasted after 2 hours in a decanter. The color is a light ruby red with slight orange tinges at the edge. The nose is very slight, but has notes of cherry, orange peel, spice. The palate has cherries, chalk, notes of cinnamon. The body is quite light with good acid and smooth, but drying tannins. The acid and tannins are both more pronounced than the fruit. The wine has a medium finish. Alcohol 13.5%.

January 18, 2019 - Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Pale ruby pink, light extraction; candied rose petals, rose water, soft sweet cherry and strawberry, has to be Rosé clone; palate shows more density, with late tannin and mineral, very young and just developing but potential is there, good fatness in the mid; thought about Vigna Elena but went to Rabaja '13; very good.

June 12, 2018 - Light, pale ruby color. Very tight upon initial opening. With air the wine opened up to show notes of rose petal, violet, red cherry and something savory I couldn't quite put my finger on. Definitely floral, perfume and red fruit driven. Similar flavors on the palate with a salty, mineral driven flavor on the finish that was really interesting. High acid and tannins with a drying finish. The best sips were the last so I certainly will not be opening my remaining bottles of a couple more years. Enjoyable now with decanting and food. Lovely, feminine styled nebbiolo.

October 12, 2017 - The heart and heart of the cru in Barbaresco. Their sleeper and one of their greatest crus. Smells and tastes beautiful. Touch of tar but in a really good way. Delicious earthiness. Super gorgeous on the palate.

August 25, 2017 - Terrific. Savory and all about terroir. Most Gallina Barbareschi express more fruit, but this is a mineral bomb. Great balance and structure and needs a ton of time to come together. Oddero just kills it. ****

August 11, 2017 - Balanced, with good structure and persistence, this developing Barbaresco wine enters med>full body. Soft at first, the structure swoops in an the softness fades as the brisk acids and fine tannins come to attention. Classic aromas and flavors; understated, and not yet fully integrated. Give this two-or three more years, then drink for the decade+ following. Really nice effort with good potential to improve from here. recommended
