June 23, 2021 - Cellared since release, perfect cork and fill. Dark purple to rim. A massive wall of raspberry and savory aromas blast forth from the glass right from the get-go. Dense mouthful of palate-coating ripe raspberries, enough acidity to hold flabbiness at bay, resolved tannins, long finish. A wild ride, excellent if this is your jam.

January 1, 2021 - Good savory and herbal notes balance the fruit Bevan is justifiably known for - also, the oak is receding some. Amazing to say, but it’s reasonably balanced - like a bear on a tightrope, it’s kind of an impressive feat just for the size of the fruit, but it’s sure tasty.

February 10, 2020 - fully opaque, inky purple black, prominent glass staining tears; cassis, milk chocolate, vanilla, licorice, tobacco leaf, floral notes; full bodied, jammy black fruit, a bit hot, 14.8% AVV; sources from Vixen block of Wildfoote Vineyard owned by former Screaming Eagle Vineyard owner Jean Phillips

December 31, 2019 - Blackberry liquor, cassis, super smooth & full without tipping over into jammy.

December 24, 2019 - Opened in the bottle 2-3 hours. Not overly in love with the 14’s right now. They come off as accessible but hallow and missing a step. Silky tannins and some sharp alcohol. Sweet red fruit and dusty earth dominate with chalky cassis and mixed/extracted liqueurs in the background. An almost cork taint quality on the initial palate that never developed.
