September 6, 2023 - Wow, continues to impress. In a great spot and very impressive, al classic. Galloni nailed his review. A beautiful nose, subtle tannins and good structure. Really enjoyable straight out of the bottle. Holding on to my last bottle until i cant.

November 2, 2022 - Excellent overall. Medium rich fruit with some nice old world secondary elements and firm acidity.

October 5, 2022 - Popped and poured the bouquet is not so very expressive, but shows some cherries and earth. On the palate cherries, chocolate, good acidity and sticky tannin. It is a beautiful wine, but it needs a few more years in the bottle to show all of its merits. Between 2025 and 2027? 91+ for now.

October 17, 2019 - Color: Still very youthfull ruby, little brow at the rim.
Nose: Spices, lots of red fruit, tabacco.
Taste: Round tannins, red fruit and black cherry (not sweet), very elegant. Nice acidity here with medium complexity, medium finish.
Overall: Can be drunk but will be better in 3 years and can keep at least ten years. Pork cheek was a little but to heavy for this wine.

October 7, 2019 - IWS Toscano Class: Was fun to get to try this next to their normal VNM as well. This was darker, but also had an orange hue. The nose on this is much prettier, but also has a slightly odd hint of molasses. Red crunchy fruit shine though, and very herbal. Taste like a much more serious wine than their normal wine. The depth to this is medium, and it lingers a bit. A nice wine, but at that price point I feel like you can find much better values.

    N: Vanilla, earth atop berries

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays in contact with the init frt as it pretty much works itself out by the LONG finish with a burgeoning sense of swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. Approachable now with food, this needs/DESERVES into '19 (if not longer) to maximize, then easily making its 10th yr. IMPRESSIVE stuff! :) 92 pts ea WA & WS, and 91 WE (4/1/17) @ $60. [As of early Mar '20, wine-searcher lists only pre-orders of 6 bottle lots.]
