March 6, 2021 - PnP. Golden mature colour. Deep Riesling bouquet dominated by minerality and ripe yellow fruits. Intense harmonious complex palate, mellowness from the vintage, good acidity, flowery, long fruity finish. Drink now-2030.

February 14, 2021 - Light golden color hinting at a rather hot vintage. classic nose dominated by green and fresh red apples, some nice vanilla tones, and a beginning hint of petroleum that becomes more pronounced after a while in the glass. Full bodied attack with a hint of sweetness that is swiftly washed away by a searing acidity. Green apples and lemon dominates the mid-palate and the finish. The aftertaste is long, fresh, mineral (petro), but also with a fascinating/irritating dryness that is almost tannic. Lots of extract here. I am a bit unsure how this structure will evolve as the wine ages. Very good now with sushi (nigiri and sashimi). Maybe this score is too conservative, but it may also be too generous.

October 6, 2019 - Wagner-Stempel Heerkretz 2007 - 2018 (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam): This shows subtle reduction, with stony, textured citrus and oyster shell.

October 8, 2017 - Não abra esta garrafa agora. O vinho ainda está em evolução e imagino que entre 3 a 5 anos estará perfeito para o consumo. Mineralidade é a palavra aqui.

Do not open this bottle now. The wine is still evolving and I imagine that between 3 to 5 years will be perfect for consumption. Minerality is the word here. The wine is very mineral and comes to bother in this aspect. There is also the presence mainly in the nose of white fruit (mainly pineapple). One also notes vanilla, but I would still say that for now it is disappointing. For 32 euros, it still does not seem like a bad buy.

September 30, 2017 - I remember having a wonderful mature bottle of Heerkretz once so this ought to turn into something good. There sure isn't much point to opening it now, though, even less so in writing a tasting note on it. On the first day it tastes like a mouth full of razor blades. The edge softens in the leftovers after a couple days but it is still a complete vortex of unexpressiveness. Wincing lemony fruit with a bit of salt and talc. I know Germans love drinking stuff like this. I also heard they love David Hasselhoff.
