November 13, 2021 - I prefer a bit more acidity on the finish of my pinots but this was still a dynamite wine. No hurry to drink!
October 28, 2021 - Another great showing for this wine. Perfect and light Cali pinot. 2 for 2 so far.
August 21, 2021 - Gorgeous wine in every respect: color, aroma and flavor
August 18, 2021 - In a great place but probably at its apogee and would look to drink up in the next 3-5 years. So much to enjoy in this wine and offers everything you'd expect from Michael Browne...big pinot flavors that are balanced and nuanced. Enjoy!
November 15, 2020 - I’ve had this bottle twice before and this is the strongest showing. It seems at or near peak. Quite nice.
November 1, 2020 - Very ripe, rich and high alcohol. Dark black cherry and a hint of prune. Delicious but a bit of a riper and higher alcohol style than I prefer... and a tad pricey for this kind of CA Pinot.
August 16, 2020 - Dark and bursting with black cherries, baking spices, and polished perfumed fruit. This is classic Michael Browne and absolutely delicious.
August 2, 2020 - Long time KB fan and I purchased some 2013 and 2015 Cirq bottlings from their mailing list. I only had the 2013 Treehouse so far back in 2017 and I scored it 94, likely because of it's youthful exuberance.
Decanted the Bootlegger about an hour before consuming and made sure it was kept chilled to cellar temp because I can't stand warm red wine! It had a typical Cali-Pinot nose of red fruits and some spicy notes. Smooth on the palate with a somewhat short finish. Paired with a Sushi roll assortment but I stayed away from the Wasabi to not effect the pairing too much.
Overall a pleasant wine but likely could have achieved similar results at 1/2 the price from other producers.
July 5, 2020 - Decanted and returned to bottle 3 hours prior to service. Clear, med bright ruby/purple. Rich, dark nose. Exceptional juice. Med/full body with unreal balance. Mix of red, blue and black fruit with a dry, sharp finish. Not over extracted whatsoever, does not drink at all like a Kosta Browne. Delicious, hard to compare to any region. Nothing off. $133 Winery Direct.
May 6, 2020 - An amazing, breathtaking Pinot. Elegance and perfection in a glass. Rich red fruits and the slightest cherry cola notes. Worth the tariff.
