June 25, 2021 - Drinking very well now. Some decanting would be beneficial
March 21, 2021 - This bottle, our last, is better than our previous one, actually tasting much like our first bottle. It's juicy stewed black fruit and meaty deep layered palate went great with Bob's chili🌶️.
August 18, 2020 - The juicy black cherry fruit and black pepper went perfectly with our smoked brisket and BBQ sauce.
October 4, 2019 - Deep and sensual, very satisfying. Nice for the price too. From the winery, which is well worth a visit.
March 24, 2019 - PnP, served with grilled tri-tip. Nose struck me as floral initially (violet?), some muted berry and stone fruit. Palate follows the nose but is way too sweet for me. There are some good peppery tannins there, but sweetness overwhelms, fights with food. I'm with the previous reviewer who suggested serving with a cheese course for dessert. It is competently made and fun to drink, but I really don't care for the style, which is more an American take on a Shiraz than a Rhone Syrah.

March 24, 2017 - A little to syrupy for my likes, lacking a bit of much needed structure. Dominated by juicy black fruits, the wine comes of sweet (not like a residual sugar sweet) to the point of being a bit flabby. An easy drinking wine- maybe an after dinner wine to have with cheese?
January 18, 2017 - Sparky Celebrates his "Double Nickel"; 1/16/2017-1/18/2017 (Paso Robles, California): This is classic California Syrah done well. Fairly opaque. Chocolate nose. Dark blackberry flavors combined with Cracker Barrel sausage, meaty. Real deal here.
September 23, 2016 - Super silky smooth with some light leathery components. Might age nicely.
