November 15, 2019 - I didn't have the chance to taste this when it was very young but can only conclude that it shut down quite hard for quite a long time as I had a difficult time reading this during previous tastings. However, this bottle offers an insight into the great promise of 1995 Pichon Comtesse. Still tight on the nose with a reticent cassis profile, this really explodes on the palate with crystalline fruit, pencil, loam, acacia, chocolate, and cedar. Delicious, and the density and elegance here are impressive.

November 10, 2019 - Was für ein schöner gereifter Wein. Einzig eine leicht korkige Note - zum Glück nur in der Nase - verhinderte eine noch bessere Wertung.

October 27, 2019 - 14th of 24, decanted 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, consistent with previous notes last in Feb 18 though with maybe a hint of brown on rim, proper Pauillac puissance, round and with none of the angularity of the vintage, though without the extra concentration of 96, 86 or 82, mature but no rush. F+ (18).

October 7, 2019 - One of two bottles opened at a party. Darker garnet with some scarlet at the edges. Arresting, full-scale nose of cassis, dark currant, hyacinth, earth, and leather. Intense, deeply pitched layers of black currant, blackberry, graphite, tobacco, and brambly earth on the palate. Moderate acidity and firm but filed-off tannin, leading to a long finish of echoing dark currant fruit infused with stone and savory earth. Quite delicious.

September 14, 2019 - Decanted 1 hour...dark red in color, sediment present, nose of black currants, cherry, blackberries, old leather, graphite, tobacco, some vanilla, spices and white pepper. Palate is medium body, cherries, currants, vanilla and spices..Tannis are lots of it but fairly smooth an good acidity. Good QPR. Long finish. Ready to drink or hold 5-10 more years

(Pichon Lalande) This was tight but gorgeous. Classic PL nose of spice, green acorn, plum, cassis and tar. Some oak too but very well integrated. Long finish and great elegance. Young but still pretty expressive. Very promising. Check back in five years.
