August 10, 2023 - Bright golden deep colour
Peach, Chamomile and green gras with a hint of petrol.
For Riesling rather full bodied and juicy but with a bright lemon zest vibrating good finish.
July 23, 2023 - This is showing even better than my last bottle. Lively, dense and packing some serious structure, but also very aromatic. It‘s in a great place now. I would probably drink my bottles over the next 5+ years or so. Lovely GG.
March 1, 2023 - Coconut, yellow flowers, pear and ripe lemon in nose. Creamy mouthfeel that finishes with a fresh acidity. Apple, pear and kiwi botes on the palate but not very fruity. Pleasantly round Riesling from a cooler vintage.
September 17, 2022 - Very powerful smell. Lychee, nectarine, tiniest hint of coconut. Juicy fruit and some stoney mineral. Honey in the mouth. Huge presence in the mouth. Long balanced finish, lemon curd perhaps.
August 29, 2021 - not blind
In very good shape, dense, not fruit dominated, lime, saline, precise finish. Far away from his peak but enjoyable in this stage. 94
May 1, 2021 - Not much to add to last tasting note. Drinking great right now, but still quite young.
November 11, 2020 - Kräftiges gelb, massive Säure, momentan nicht im Gleichgewicht
June 18, 2020 - I can relate with uncorked, as my wife, known ABR drinker, enjoyed it more than I hoped ;-). The bouquet starts with creamy minerality, sweet amalfi lemons, some coconut and green asparagus. Medium bodied it’s really intense with a long finish. This wine has outstanding potential and currently I would slightly prefer the Doosberg before the Nikolaus. Tough live to decide between those two beauties.
May 27, 2020 - My significant other, who generally cringes when I propose opening a bottle of riesling, really enjoyed this one. I would have preferred that he hadn't so I could have kept it all to myself. ;)

December 23, 2019 - This was very good but the oak felt a tad out of sync. A St Nikolaus 2016 had next to it smoked it clearly. I think this might come into its own with some more bottle age and is a very good wine. Just not fully sync'd today. 91-92
