January 20, 2022 - corked. brickish red, thinning lip. nose- off nose that hides most of the nose, sweet red fruit, corked. palate- corked, slightly bitter, overwhelming
March 24, 2016 - Popped and poured. Lovely nose of dewy meadow that persisted for hours. In the mouth plenty of backbone, cherry, pear, tropical fruit. Long finish. Not past its prime by any means.
August 7, 2014 - Strawberry, plum, cranberry, cinnamon spice, earth, long finish.
January 5, 2013 - drinking well, but just past its prime
September 10, 2011 - fairly simple profile of root beer. very nice acidity keeps this fresh. medium finish is driven by sour cherry.
January 9, 2011 - Had to stop myself from reading others' & previous notes. Along with Prime filet beef this truly delivered a perfect pairing. Absolutely sensational. Went looking for something that could deliver something CA Cab like and without the Roar Pisoni nearby, doubtful one could do better. Match made. Looking back my 2008 note... fergetaboutit. This evening... Pops...that's perfection!
May 17, 2010 - Nothing wrong here - but too sweet for my profile, yet elegant and unctuous. Reading my 2008 review reminds - this is simply a more matured version of that. Hasn't learned any new tricks; but fortunately also hasn't taken on any new bad habits.
May 1, 2010 - Some heat out of the bottle, but this settled down. Earth and spice on the nose, but muted candy floss, red fruits on the palate. Very nicely made, nice drinking wine and would go well with food. Not a stellar wine, but worth trying.

September 3, 2009 - Smelled like a Burgundy but tasted like a Cali Pinot. The nose shows some funky earth even with some apicey dark cherries which kept bringing back for more. The palate was more typically expressive Cali with bright dark cherry and cranberry flavors. Good and not as hot as I expect but falls a bit short of it's acclaim. I really dig it for what it is though.
