October 18, 2021 - Well, an interesting Southern Rhone.
On nose: coffee, faint grenadine ( Pomegranate)and a ghost of cardamom...
On palate: all above flavour notes, plus, puree of plum and tart raspberry, faint baking spices , soft acidity and light oak, after a 3 hour decant( a must).
Strong presence of Grenache( 55%) ...not my favourite grape , but well blended here, with 15% Syrah, 15% Cinsault and other regional grapes for the final 15%.
In a good place at 7 years of age , can age, a bit further.

August 30, 2020 - At this price point, this is a perfect wine for every day drinking. It has a nice balance of fruit, structure and acidity.

November 18, 2019 - Bland, disappointing, may need additional time to open up, good fruit forward nose but too tight so doesn’t add to overall flavor.

April 22, 2019 - The 2014 Lirac Baron Louis opens with a delineated nose of red cherry, strawberry, rosemary, lavender and baking spice. I love the rich fruit in this showing because it shows tremendous purity and concentration. There's an impeccable sense of balance and a finish that lingers. At this price-point - a steal!

December 24, 2018 - Needs to breathe, preferably at least a couple of hours to show its worth.

May 23, 2018 - Gave 120m of air this time, which definitely helped. Bold aromas of baking spice, dark cherries and a hint of blueberry and oak. Lovely on entry with dark cherries, silky texture, fine-grained tannins and creamy mouthfeel. Tart and slightly astringent in the mid-palate and finish, which got a little better as the wine warmed to room temperature. Tannins grow chewy in the finish. Decent, but not crying for a re-buy.

May 12, 2018 - PNP, which was a mistake. Shy and tight at first, this really needs time to open up, it was a completely different experience after 90m in glass. This Rhone blend is made of 50% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, plus Carignan and Mourvèdre.

Pale-to-Medium Ruby color. Deep aromas of spice, dark cherry, garrigue and vanilla. Silky texture and dark cherry flavors, round, with fine-grained tannins. Finishes a bit tart and tannic, but that does not detract from the overall experience.
