June 10, 2020 - Not showing much development compared to my recent 2012, other than a touch of soy and leather right after opening. As it breathed it showed bright red fruit, red licorice, floral perfume. Palate was snappy with fine sandy grained tannin and a long finish. This is definitely open and delicious but not yet middle age.

March 28, 2020 - A nose that reminds of Leuden's cherry cough drops (essentially cherry candy). Pure red fruit, red licorice. Pronounced intensity on the nose and palate. Earthiness begins to show up after a little time in glass. The tannins are still quite rough, acidity medium+ at least. The tannin level requires food. This is built to last a long, long time.
