    December 10, 2023 - Very Good+
But I'm not getting the level of enthusiasm and quality rating others are. Not sure why. This was a good pizza wine, literally. Maybe I'll decant my final bottle for several hours to give a better chance to shine. It wasn't tight and was really enjoyable and good and with great typicity, I just didn't get much complexity. Maybe it's on me being distracted watching football?

September 11, 2023 - High quality, seriously gripping Barbaresco. Excellent typicity, leaning toward the stalwart side of the style. Tanninphobes beware! This needs at least a decade to soften. Italian fare brings out its finest qualities. Recommend holding. Improvement seems possible. 93-94.

July 16, 2023 - Decanted for 3 hours. Aromatic, but my first concern was that the colour indicated maturity - a rather tawny red tinged with a rusty orange hue. The palate was conflicted; on the surface there was dusty leather and ripe, bitter cherries, but the high tannins and acidity totally dominated what fruit there was. However, I could sense quality and complexity deep behind these tannins, hinting at dried fruits, smoke and clay, but they would come to the fore only if the tannins and acidity smoothed out and let them through.

2nd day, smoother, but not enough. Frankly, I don't believe there is sufficient fruit to outlast the tannins and acidity over time. BTW, while this was an adequate food wine (braised short ribs), this was no apperitif sipper; the high tannins and dusty bitterness over the subsumed fruit got in the way of any solitary pleasure here.

March 6, 2023 - A baby, reticent at first but with brooding power and an aromatic lift which emerged with time. Dense on the palate, chewy and concentrated. Very good.

February 13, 2023 - 67 Pall Mall post TWS Burgundy Tasting (67 Pall Mall): Quite robust still, but time in a large glass brought it more to life, with deep and dark fruit balanced by a firm backbone. A bit of cheek sucking with plenty more in the tank, but very nice now and particularly good with food.
