April 28, 2023 - Friday afternoon tea. Bottle off the wine list at 67PM. 3 pax we finished this off easily. Poured into decanter. Sediment at side of bottle.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fruity red berries, red plums, light cedar, creme de cassis, touch of tobacco, leather. More pronounced with air - fresh cedar coming out, animal leather also, and red florals. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.7%), smooth integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fruity dark red plums, black plums, dark red berries, blackberries, tobacco, dark spice, cassis, cedar background. Long glossy dark fruit finish with a lick of spice.
Very good quality. Already nice drinking now with a good decant. Can develop a little more over the next few years also.
