December 7, 2023 - Jadotfest 2023 (Noizé, London): Burnished brass. Creme brulée and apple pie. In fact it made me want apple pie, or something along the lines of a tarte tatin. Fine sweetness, tropicality and apricots with some body and weight, however not heavy. Small sips only at this stage, very nice.

September 29, 2023 - Just the slightest bit over the hill but still enjoyable.

August 30, 2023 - Light golden. Pure perfumed aromas of pineapple. Medium weight, outstanding acidity and lift. Moderately sweet, elegant, pure, and beautiful progression across the palate. 1988 in Sauternes is my kind of vintage, never too heavy or gloppy.

July 7, 2023 - Bought at auction. Cork crumbled on opening. Really incredible color, but as we were tasting, the most experienced person at the table thought it was corked. I did eventually get the telltale cardboard taste, but it was after a few minutes. Otherwise it was kind of one-dimensional, just sweet without much complexity. The nose was definitely odd, restrained, plasticy, but at one point I got a fleeting whiff of a more typical sauternes nose that didn't return.

December 5, 2021 - Couleur dorée tirant sur le topaze. Nez intense de fruits tropicaux. Long, ample avec un sucre bien intégré . A bien accompagné le foie gras maison.

April 23, 2021 - Stored in a cold cellar since release. Golden colour. Lovely bouquet. To begin with seemed light and not that sweet. Given plenty of air developed deep rich barley sugar flavour with depth and persistence. A little odd really.
Not that complex but a classic in the the "barley sugar" style which is a matter of personal preference. Seems to have many years in hand.

May 5, 2020 - This bottle was decidedly not sweet, which surprised me. The wine isn't old enough for the sweetness to have aged out of it like happens with some Sauternes at the 50-60 year old mark. It's still very good, but not a dessert wine at this point, or at least this bottle wasn't. I'll have to open another one soon.

November 2, 2019 - Really delightful. Sl carmellly and mild acidity. Has aged quite nicely. Finish a little shot but what a great way to finish the meal!

November 25, 2017 - Solid gold. Nose of dried apricots and something a bit medicinal, like Savlon. Nice lifted acidity, very fresh and balanced for such a wine. Lots of barley sugar, light honey, dried stone fruits like apricots. As well as that slightly strange bitter, medicinal note. Tremendous length too. Lovely, fine, well balanced sweetie.
