March 24, 2019 - This is a delicious Cabernet Franc. Well integrated flavors.

February 6, 2019 - I wouldn't say this is a Cab Franc expressed in any sort of traditional or old-fashioned Loire idiom, but there's enough genuine Cab Franc appeal to show what can be done with this grape at high altitude in a more New World idiom, genuinely but also distinctively. There's an odd, funky floral (rose, pot pourri) note that takes some time to blow off, but that florality (suggestive of Piedmont) continues to contribute to an earthy-dusty but still fresh mix of berries (raspberry at first, then blackberry), pomegranate, black pepper, and mushroom. There isn't great complexity, but the acidity and sour-bitter finish suggest that a bit more aging (2-3 years) could help round things out. Still, it's a very good 100% varietal expression from a renowned producer, and it certainly looks like this Bordeaux varietal has a lot to offer in Argentina -- this wine coming from the Uco Valley (and the San Carlos vineyard within it, at an elevation of 1,090 m) in Mendoza.

October 4, 2018 - Medium plus garnet color. Heavy salinity on the nose, some black fruit. Medium high acid, some vanilla, light flavor intensity, saline with unevolved finish, tongue-coating chalk tannins.
