August 8, 2020 - Sweet but not cloying. Apricot, honey, some orange peel as it warms. Just as excellent on night 2 and 3 as it was when first opened.

April 11, 2020 - Dark gold. Sweet without any hint of cloying

Looking forward to day 2 with crepes suzette

EDIT. After a couple of days, moved from 90 to 92
    Superb.
To top it all, it is in a standard weight bottle: back then they didn't need to try to impress with a 2lb status symbol

March 7, 2018 - You can't tell because of the colored glass bottle, but this stuff is beautiful when poured into a glass. A wonderful gold appears and the aromas immediately hit your nose. Tasting great and opening my second bottle sooner than later.

December 11, 2017 - Quarts de Chaume is shallow soil (limestones, schists, and standstones) on a well-protected hillside cove (while Bonnezeaux is on the hilltop), In the middle Ages, the Lord reserved himself the right to keep one quarter of the crop from the south-facing hillside around the village of Chaume, hence the name. Andrew Jefford describes this wine as “sweet and succulent, weighty with lime-blossom honey” and I think his description is spot on. One might add that there are faint notes of white chocolate, peach, and apricots and just the slightest hints of (if I’m looking) chalk, salty minerals, and white truffles. Polished and delightful. This wine just brings a smile to your face. At 28 years in, this wine was still drinking beautifully! Much better served at cellar temperature (like a red wine). Equally good with varying amounts of air, including right after popping cork and on day 2

March 7, 2015 - PHMG WAG Blind Pairs: Old World vs. New (Lyon Den): What a nice end to the Old vs. New tasting, with an "Old Old!" Liquid gold pouring out of the bottle with an immediate nose. Pear, apricot, honeyed tropical fruit, with minerals, almonds, and flowers on the back with a really nice bite of acid. Didn't fall off sitting in an open glass in the fridge overnight.
