December 9, 2016 - Nose of dried outdoors and soft young wood. Very minor nasal undertones of Red fruits and some floralness. Palate has hay and more young wood with crushed dried corn. back palate end notes of grainy caramel. Finish lingers but too much of it is the young wood note versus more classic bourbon flavors like vanilla, caramel, etc. Good but not great and with 122.9 proof to heighten flavors will be in rotation but not an everyday pour.
